RedRadio, Inc. Files for New Patent in Home Automation Market
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Califorina--Nov. 17, 2004--RedRadio®, Inc. today announced that it has filed a U.S. Patent for its Fractional Video Display(TM) technology, which is on display for the first time at the Electronic House Expo in Long Beach, California. This technology was developed in partnership with EarthLCD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Earth Computer Technologies, Inc.
Fractional Video Display technology allows a professional integrator to install multiple LCD touch screens around the home or office without the high-cost and limitations typically associated with home automation touch screen controllers. Touch screens using the Fractional Video Display technology have the performance and flexibility equal to that of a display connected directly to a PC. The system is operating-system independent, and works with virtually any software platform.
The initial system consists of a PC video controller card utilizing the Fractional Video Display technology and up to 8 single-gang (2.7") LCD touch screens. Each touch screen uses a standard CAT5 cable for both video and power, making installation and retrofit applications easy. General availability is expected in 1Q2005.
The new technology complements RedRadio's existing products, which includes RelayServer, a dedicated PC platform for home automation and RelayTouch, a 12.1" wall-mount LCD touch screen.
